Through the academic advising/coaching that Prabhjot received, she was able to understand that change came with time.  SupportNet has positively influenced Prabhjot by providing her with many ways to overcome test anxiety, develop her time management and improve her information processing.  As shared by Prabhjot, she lacked confidence and doubted herself often.  After meeting with a SupportNet Advisor, she started believing in herself that she could perform well in her courses.  Through Prabhjot's patience and hard work to improve, Prabhjot was able to pull her grade in class to an "A" and  is a SupportNet success student.  We are proud of Prabhjot!

Student FAQs

How will I know if I have been referred to SupportNet?

You will receive an email from SupportNet letting you know that you have been referred to SupportNet if you are not meeting the expectations of your class. You may also receive a phone call from SupportNet staff asking you to set up an appointment with an advisor.

Note: If an instructor has not referred you to the program, but you think you would benefit from meeting with a SupportNet advisor, you may contact us via phone or email to set up an appointment.

What should I do if I am contacted by SupportNet?

First of all, remember, you are NOT “in trouble.”  SupportNet is available to assist you with study strategies and provide you with resources on campus that may be helpful to you.

If you are contacted by the SupportNet program, please respond to us by phone 559.278.8370 or email supportnet@csufresno.edu to set up an appointment with a SupportNet advisor. You should also contact your instructor and let him/her know you are addressing his/her concerns.

What should I expect when I meet with a SupportNet advisor?

Expect for your initial appointment to take an hour. During your meeting with a SupportNet advisor you will talk about the reason your instructor referred you to the program. You and the SupportNet advisor will then outline a Student Action Plan to set you on the path to success. In addition to establishing a Student Action Plan, the SupportNet advisor will help you determine your learning style, improve time management skills and discuss study strategies. Other campus resources that are available to support you may also be recommended.

Who will know about my referral to SupportNet?

Maintaining confidentiality is important to the SupportNet staff. Only your professor, SupportNet staff, special program advisor, and any campus resources you have been referred to will know of your referral. In addition, we follow the guidelines set forth by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, 34 CFR Part 99 (www.ed.gov).

Will my instructor or staff member that referred me know if I have met with a SupportNet advisor?

SupportNet will not discuss what you spoke about in your sessions; however, your instructor will be notified if you followed up on the referral.
