Monkeypox
Monkeypox is an infection caused by a virus in the same family as smallpox.
Rash and flu-like symptoms, may include all or only a few: headache, muscle ache, backache, skin lesions, swollen lymph nodes, chills, exhaustion, and respiratory symptoms such as sore throat, nasal congestion, or cough
Direct physical contact with sores, rash, scabs, and bodily fluids from a person with
Monkeypox, including respiratory secretions during prolonged face-to-face contact.
Transmits through touching objects, fabrics including clothing, bedding, towels, and
surfaces used by someone with Monkeypox.
If you are a student and think you have been infected with Monkeypox, please reach
out to the Student Health and Counseling Center for direction and or medical care.
If you are staff or faculty, please reach out to your primary care provider. During
this time, remember to avoid touching anyone, cover all parts of the rash with clothing,
including gloves, and wear a mask in the presence of others.
