Off-Campus Rates

Enforced weekdays 7a - 10p (4p Fridays).  Summer enforcement hours are 730a - 8p (2p Fridays). Permits are not required on weekends or state holidays except during special events.

The SSU is located at 2485 E San Ramon Ave, Fresno, CA 93740. Access to the facility and adjacent parking is available by turning south on Barstow Ave at Maple Avenue.  Parking is available in specified lots. View the campus map for mor information.

A Multifunctional Performance Hall

The Satellite Student Union, home of Earl Whitfield Hall, is one of Fresno's best multi-functional venues for performances, movie screenings, lectures, ceremonies, luncheons and more.

The reservation policy and procedures outlined below are intended to provide equiable access to space while also focusing on the priorties of space usage maximization and consistent streamlined event planning process that aligns with the university mission.

Layout and Floorplan

The SSU may be configured in a variety of layouts to suit your event's needs.  Below are examples of the most commonly used layouts for reference as you plan yor event with our staff. Additional informational layout drawings may be provided upon request. 

Please note: round tables are not provided by the SSU and must be rented from an outside vendor.

Food and Beverage

University Dining Services is the exclusive food and beverage service provider for Fresno State.  For more information, including a catering menu visit the Dining Services Website.

Alcoholic Beverages

The only department that has the exclusive right to serve alcohol on campus is University Dining Services.

If you are planning to serve alcohol at your event on campus there are certain criteria that must be met, including the following:

  • Submit a request for approval to serve alcohol. This can be accomplished by completing the Application for Use of Alcoholic Beverages On Campus.  This online application must be received by our office no later than two weeks prior to the event in order for all approving offices to review the request. (If you are unable to access the online application, please contact our Office at 559.278.7422)
  • Your application must be approved by:
    • The advisor (if applicable)
    • V.P. for Student Affairs
    • University Risk Manager
    • University Dining Services
  • Arrange for Catering Services to serve alcohol as well as non-alcoholic beverages plus a variety of foods, including high protein foods (e.g. cheeses, meats). Your request will not be approved until your catering order is scheduled. Contact University Dining Services at 559.278.3904 or cmartinez@csufresno.edu

Smoke-Free Campus

As of September 1, 2017, Fresno State, will be a smoke and tobacco-free campus.  This policy has been adopted by all CSU campuses to improve the health and safety of all students, faculty, staff and visitors. The use of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars, snuff, snus, water pipes, pipes, hookahs, chew, unregulated electronic nicotine delivery systems, and any other non-combustible tobacco products will be prohibited. 

Deadlines and Notices

Reservations must be made a MINIMUM of 4 to 6 weeks and up to 12 months in advance. Forms must be submitted four weeks prior to event, or risk not being accepted due to technical requirements, availability of equipment and/or staffing.
