Marijuana
Despite the passage of Prop 64, legalizing the recreational use of marijuana, possessing and using marijuana is still illegal under Federal Law and is prohibited at Fresno State.
What is Marijuana?
Marijuana, also referred to as pot, weed, herb, grass, ganja, and Mary Jane comes from the dried parts of the hemp plant, Cannabis sativa.
The main psychoactive (mind-altering) chemical in marijuana is delta-9-tetrahydro-cannabinol (THC) which is responsible for most of the intoxicating effects.
How do People Use Marijuana?
Marijuana can be:
- Smoked (through joints, bongs or blunts)
- Vaporizers (inhale the vapor, not the smoke)
- Eaten (mixed in foods such as cakes or brownies)
- Drunk (brewed as a tea)
- Dabbing (extracting THC resins used in has/honey oil, wax, shatter)
