Brief Introductory Statement:
Dr. Sanliang Gu received his Ph.D in Horticulture from Oregon State University. Dr. Gu currently holds the Ricchiuti Chair of Viticulture Research as a research scientist at the Viticulture and Enology Research Center, while serving as Professor of Viticulture in the Department of Viticulture and Enology at Fresno State. He was an Assistant Research Processor of Fruit Science for three and half years for the Department of Fruit Science at Southwest Missouri State University in Mountain Grove, Missouri.
His research interests are in climatic analysis, fruit quality improvement, plant nutrition, plant-water relations, vineyard irrigation, cold hardiness, cultivar evaluation, trellis systems and canopy management. His teaching responsibilities include Winegrape Production, General Viticulture, Varieties and Rootstocks, and Research and Communications in Agriculture. He also advises graduate students for their research and thesis.
