Research funding workshop targets innovators, small and large businesses

Fresno State is teaming with the UC Merced SBDC Regional Network to host a September workshop aimed at bringing more research dollars into Central California.

The workshop, on Sept. 25 in Fresno, will feature an exploration of how to utilize grant funding to advance your research and how to develop commercialization strategies to build your business. Participants will hear practical advice from SBIR/STTR experts and previous grant winners.

Information will be targeted especially to the following:

  • Small businesses wanting to develop innovative technology products
  • Large companies interested in developing strategic alliances with successful SBIR/STTR awardees
  • Highly motivated small business entrepreneurs and researchers
  • University researchers interested in starting their own companies
  • University researchers interested in partnering with small businesses on collaborative R&D projects
  • Organizations and consultants providing support to interested SBIR/STTR applicants
