Biography: Professor John F. Cordeiro received his B.S. and M. S. degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He is the sheep specialist and is in charge of the Livestock Judging team. His primary teaching responsibilities are in the areas of Sheep Production and Management, Livestock Evaluation and Introduction to Animal Science, In addition, he teaches Animals & society and Livestock Marketing.

Professor Cordeiro has been teaching at the University since 1986. He has been actively involved with his students in the Red Wave Show, Fairs, sheep sales plus FFA and 4H activities.

Judging beef, sheep and swine and fairs in the state and nation has also been a major port of his outside activities. Professor Cordeiro was the recipient of the 2007 S.A.A.C Outstanding Teacher Award.
