Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement (MESA)
MESA Graduation Requirements
At the end of the academic year, MESA acknowledges the hard work of our graduating MESA Students. Each year at our annual banquet students have the opportunity to apply for Certificate of Graduation and Outstanding Achievement Certificate of Graduation. Below is the Criteria for each individual award. Applications will become available in April 2017.
Certificate of Graduation (High School) (students will receive a medal and backpack)
Criteria include:
- 4 years of college preparatory mathematics
- 4 years of college preparatory English
- Chemistry or Physics
- Minimum cumulative GPA=3.0
- Fresno State MESA Schools Program participation
Outstanding Achievement Certificate of Graduation (High School) (Students will receive a MESA Sash, a medal and backpack)
Criteria include:
- 4 years of college preparatory mathematics
- 4 years of college preparatory English
- Chemistry AND Physics (an additional year of AP science can be substituted)
- Complete "a-g" subject requirements for University of California or California State University
- Minimum cumulative GPA=3.3
- Must be involved with Fresno State MESA for 2 years and senior year must account for one of them
- Fresno State MESA School Program participation (leadership participation a plus)
