Where is the application to apply for the MBA program?


For the Traditional and Online Blended MBA programs, please visit Cal State Apply. The EMBA and Ag EMBA applications are available on our website.

What are Fresno State's admission requirements for international applicants?

Do international applicants have to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores when they apply for the EMBA or Ag EMBA program?

Yes, international students will need to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores in order to be considered for the EMBA or Ag EMBA program.

I am applying for the Online Blended MBA program on Cal State Apply. I only see one application, and it does not have an option to select "Online." Am I filling out the correct application?

There is only one application on Cal State Apply for both the Traditional and Online Blended MBA programs, and it does not have an option for "Online." This is the correct application. Once you have been accepted to our program, you will automatically be able to register for online courses.

Can I submit my Cal State application on the deadline date?

You can, but you will be taking a risk. The Cal State application functions on Eastern Standard Time and may shut down earlier than anticipated on the deadline date. We recommend that you submit your application ahead of the deadline.

Do I need to submit an application on Cal State Apply for the EMBA or Ag EMBA program?

You will not submit the Cal State application until you have submitted these initial items and have been accepted to the EMBA or Ag EMBA program. If you submitted a Cal State application too soon, please contact our office.

Can I get my MBA and work at the same time?

Yes, our Traditional MBA courses are offered in the evenings and our Online Blended MBA gives you even more schedule flexibility. Our EMBA and Ag EMBA courses mostly take place on Saturdays.

How many units must be taken to earn an MBA degree?

The program consists of 36 units. Students who do not have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Craig School of Business may have to take up to 15 units of prerequisite courses.

How many units do I need to take to be a full-time graduate student?

You must take 9 units (3 classes) to be considered a full-time graduate student.

How long is the MBA program?

The Traditional and Online Blended MBA programs are comprised of 36 units and can be completed in 3-4 semesters. Some students may have to take up to 15 units of prerequisite courses which often extends the duration of the programs to 4 semesters. The EMBA and Ag EMBA can be completed in approximately 17 months.

Am I able to specialize in a specific area when I enroll in the MBA program?

No, the MBA is a general degree. However, you may take electives in your field of interest.

How do I know if my prerequisite credits will transfer to Fresno State?

If you have graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Craig School of Business, you have already fulfilled all of your prerequisite requirements for the MBA degree. If you attended a different university, then we will determine if your credits will transfer upon receipt of your transcripts. If we accept you into our program and you still have prerequisites to fulfill, we will let you know which courses you must take in your acceptance letter.

Are courses for the Online Blended MBA program only offered online?

No, students may pick and choose which courses they would like to take online and which courses they would like to take in person. 

Can I choose to take my courses 100 percent online for the Online Blended MBA program?

Yes, you can take your courses 100 percent online. Depending on who your professor is, you may have to take some final exams in person or at an approved testing center. You may also have to present your final Culminating Experience project in person.

What is the acceptance rate for the MBA program?

The acceptance rate is about 30 percent. However, this percentage is partly based on the fact that we receive many incomplete applications and cannot admit these applicants as a result. We encourage you to apply regardless of our acceptance rate.

How long does it take to find out whether or not I have been accepted into the MBA program?

Depending on when you submitted your application, it can take one to three months to find out if you have been accepted into the program. You are welcome to contact our office and check on the status of your application.

If I have graduated from Fresno State in the past, do I need to submit official Fresno State transcripts?

No, our office will be able to access your transcripts on our computer system.

Can I have my university email your office a link to my official transcript?

No, your transcript will be unofficial in this case. Please follow the instructions under Transcript Submission.

Who should write my letters of recommendation?

We accept letters of recommendation from employers and/or professors.

For the Traditional/Online Blended MBA application, is there a specific format that my letters of recommendation should be written in, or is there a form my references should fill out?

We only require a standard business letter format for the letters of recommendation and there is not a form. References should explain why you would be a great candidate for the MBA program.

For the Traditional/Online Blended MBA application, is there a required word or page count for the Statement of Purpose?

No, we do not have a word or page count requirement for the Statement of Purpose.

What is the prompt for the Statement of Purpose?

Please explain why you would like to pursue an MBA degree and describe some of your short-term and long-term goals. 

Can I waive the GMAT requirement?

If you possess an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the Craig School of Business, and you have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, you are eligible to waive the GMAT requirement. If you possess a graduate degree in any discipline from an accredited university, you are eligible to waive the GMAT requirement. We will determine your eligibility upon receipt of your application materials.

Can I submit my GRE scores in lieu of taking the GMAT?

Yes, we accept the GRE, however, we do measure your score by a different scale. We highly recommend that you take the GMAT as it makes you a more competitive applicant.

Can I submit my GMAT scores after the deadline?

Yes, however, you must contact our office and let us know that you will be submitting your scores after the deadline.

Do you offer a GMAT Prep Course?

Yes, we do offer a GMAT Prep Course every semester. Please contact our office for more information: 559.278.2107 or mbainfo@csufresno.edu.

Are there Study Abroad opportunities available for the MBA program?

No, we do not have any Graduate Assistantships available at this time.
