This list of links has been gathered over time at CVHPI during daily research activities. It is provided to the community as a resource for gathering information and to help individuals and organizations make informed decisions.

Hospital Administration

Hospital Administration is a website dedicated to encouraging more individuals to consider becoming hospital administrators. This website was created to answer the many questions that prospective individuals have about the field, what subject to study, what degree is needed, salary and career expectations, etc.

PubMed

PubMed is a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine that includes over 16 million citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals for biomedical articles back to the 1950s. PubMed includes links to full text articles and other related resources.

Health Access California

Health Access California is a statewide health care consumer advocacy coalition of over 200 organizations working towards the goal of quality and affordable health care for all Californians.

The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL)

The National Conference of State Legislatures provides research, technical assistance and opportunities for policymakers to exchange ideas on the most pressing state issues. NCSL is an effective and respected advocate for the interests of state governments before Congress and federal agencies.

NCSL is a bipartisan organization serving legislators and staffs of the nation's 50 states, commonwealths and territories. It was founded in 1975 with the conviction that legislative service is one of democracy's worthiest pursuits. Also...

NCSL Briefing Papers On Health Policy

A set of briefing papers on important health policy topics that are part of an orientation package for state legislators on the fundamentals of state health policy. Each paper provides basic, introductory information on policy and program areas in the form of most frequently asked questions (FAQ) by legislators plus brief, objective and non-technical answers.

The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation

The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation is a non-profit, private operating foundation focusing on the major health care issues facing the nation. The Foundation is an independent voice and source of facts and analysis for policymakers, the media, the health care community, and the general public. The Foundation is not associated with Kaiser Permanente or Kaiser Industries.

Kaiser also offers wonderful tutorials through their kaiserEDU.org site.

California HealthCare Foundation

The California HealthCare Foundation is an independent philanthropy committed to improving the way health care is delivered and financed in California, and helping consumers make informed health care and coverage decisions.

The CHCF commission provides researches and analysis, publishes and disseminates information, convenes stakeholders, and funds development of programs and models aimed at improving the health care delivery and financing systems.

Families USA

Families USA is a national nonprofit, non-partisan organization dedicated to the achievement of high-quality, affordable health care for all Americans. Working at the national, state, and community levels, they have earned a national reputation as an effective voice for health care consumers for over 20 years.

California Department of Health Care Services

The California Department of Health Care Services site offers Medi-Cal redesign activities, presentations and initiatives information.

The Brookings Institution

The Brookings Institution is a private nonprofit organization devoted to independent research and innovative policy solutions. For policy-makers and the media, Brookings scholars provide the highest quality research, policy recommendations, and analysis on the full range of public policy issues.

Insure the Uninsured Project (ITUP)

The Insure the Uninsured Project identifies, assists, and promotes new approaches to expand health care and coverage for California's uninsured. The project focuses on developing common ground and establishing connections among interested and influential parties, to bring about public and private health care reform.

The California Budget Project (CBP)

The California Budget Project serves as a resource to the media, policymakers, and state and local constituency groups seeking accurate information and analysis of a range of state policy issues.

The CBP presents research findings and policy analyses to state and local policymakers in the form of testimony, written reports, and briefing materials.

Along with periodic briefing papers and in-depth reports, the CBP publishes a quarterly newsletter, Budget Watch, keeping readers updated on important developments in state and federal policy.

The Commonwealth Fund

The Commonwealth Fund supports independent research on health care issues and making grants available to improve health care practice and policy.

As a private foundation they promote high performing health care systems that achieve better access, improved quality, and greater efficiency for low-income people, the uninsured, minority Americans, young children, and elderly adults.

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

For more than 30 years the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has brought experience, commitment and a rigorous, balanced approach to the problems that affect the health and health care of those it serves, because when it comes to helping Americans lead healthier lives and get the care they need, the Foundation expects to make a difference in our lifetime.
