Amanda Conley joined the Institute in 2013. A Fresno State alumnus, she has a master’s degree in sociology from San Jose State University, is currently a doctoral student in the sociology department at University of California, Merced, and serves as a part-time lecturer at Fresno State and Fresno City College. Her research interests include the social determinants of health, environmental sociology, and local social movements. A citizen of the Chickasaw Nation, she is also currently focused on American Indian access to health coverage.

During her time with the Institute, she has worked on projects focused on health equity, oral health, infant mortality, health needs assessments, attitudes, perceptions and knowledge of public health systems, affordable housing, the social determinants of health, and learning and evaluations. She also has experience in institutional and organizational research.
