The Challenges of Mobilizing Asian American Students in the Central Valley

A presentation of survey research findings examining the challenges & successes of Asian American students at Fresno State

Hiromi Kubo Public Services Librarian
Yoshiko Takahashi Assistant Professor, Criminology
Gena Lew Gong Lecturer, Asian American Studies

The researchers designed and administered a survey to Southeast Asian American students in order to identify obstacles they face in school, family, and community, which would affect retention/graduation rates and overall academic success. The researchers hope these findings will be used to better serve the needs of students at Fresno State.
