Integration Bee Tuesday, April 8

Postby staing » Tue Mar 04, 2014 11:54 am

The Department of Mathematics invites undergraduate students to compete in the 12th annual Integration Bee, to be held Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 7:00pm in Science 2, room 109.

The Integration Bee is akin to a spelling bee, except instead of words to spell, the contestants have to solve integrals. Students go head-to-head at the board to write down the correct answer before the buzzer sounds. Most of the integrals can be evaluated using techniques covered in Calculus II (Math 76). The event is open to the public, and we need an audience to cheer and groan as well as competitors! It is a really fun event for everyone. You can read more about it, including the official rules, and see pictures from past bees at ... ation-bee/ .

Competition is open to students enrolled as undergraduates at Fresno State, or to high school students who are enrolled in at least one undergraduate course at Fresno State. For more information or to sign up, students should send email to Dr. Katherine Kelm ( with "Integration Bee" in the subject line. Include your email address and/or your student ID number, to verify eligibility.

Come cheer on Fresno State's best and brightest integrationists!
