FYI -In October, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments in Fisher v. University of Texas at Austin, a case challenging the sliver of consideration the university gives to race and ethnicity when deciding whom to admit. It is already being billed as "the case that killed affirmative action."

Ban campus skateboards

I am a Fresno State student. Recently, when I was going to my class, a student who was coming very fast on a skateboard crashed into me and I fell on the ground and was unconscious for two minutes. Weeklong activities center on nonviolence

A candlelight vigil for world peace and harmony -- marking the international day of nonviolence that is designated by the United Nations -- is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Fresno State Peace Garden.
