Asthma-awareness walks today through Sunday

On Friday, the walkers will begin at Saint Agnes Medical Center at 8 a.m. with a noon stop at Fresno State, and from 4-8 p.m. at Carozza Park, 4921 E. Olive Ave. Games for children and healthy snacks will be available at the park.

California limits role of student tests in API scores

Michael Rubio (D-East Bakersfield), which bars California State University student fees from being established, adjusted or reallocated without the approval of student representatives. The new law explicitly bars CSU campus presidents from using alternative processes to impose or reallocate fees without student consent, as occurred at the Fresno, Northridge and Long Beach campuses, according to Rubio.

FYI - After 10 months of investigations, angry demands and lawsuits, the final chapter in the pepper-spray saga at the University of California, Davis, was written Wednesday with the announcement of a $1 million settlement.
