A UCLA professor is set to speak on the 90th anniversary of the Burning of Smyrna at Fresno State on Oct. 5. Richard Hovannisian, professor of Armenian and Near Eastern history, will discuss the Smyrna catastrophe -- the inferno that engulfed and destroyed much of the city in the Greco-Turkish War.

Peters Ethics Lecture Series fall 2012 events: Darren Sherkat, professor of sociology at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill., speaking on "Social Science and the Same Sex Marriage Debate" at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the Alice Peters Auditorium.

I recently did an interview to talk about Bulldog Pride Fund for a co-workers class paper and when the question came up of “how has Bulldog Pride fund influenced you,” the list just went on and on. From financial stability to building connections within the Fresno State community, being a knowledgeable scholar makes me feel at home in the school I go to and the place that I am lucky enough to have a great job at. Most scholarship organizations give you the check and send you on your way with best wishes on your endeavors.

The University Center to Advance Manufacturing at Fresno State will host the 2nd annual Fall Manufacturing Conference Oct. 12 at the Radisson Conference Center in Downtown Fresno. Don Austin, an Industrial Technology professor at Fresno State, says this year’s conference will cover considerably more ground that last year’s event.
