Judy Chicago, the co-founder who established the first feminist art program at [Fresno State], further roots the Woman’s Building in the San Joaquin Valley. Interest in Chicago is hot right now. Emmy-winning director Jill Soloway is developing a series on Chicago who brought what she started at Fresno to Los Angeles, turning it into the Feminist Studio Workshop.

Fresno State played a big part in making the app available here. Helana is an Uber driver who figures she will make extra money delivering food, especially to college students. "We have our study group and you get hungry okay. You gotta get somebody. Who is gonna go with this person and gets everybody's money? Well you can just sit there on your phone, study, and order your food and have it brought to you."

US Approves $650M for Train System, Also Helps High-Speed Rail

Trump has spoken favorably of high-speed rail and lamented that the United States is behind many other countries that have bullet trains. Central San Joaquin Valley supporters of Trump tend not to support the train, according to a study this month by the Institute for Leadership and Public Policy at Fresno State. About 62 percent of his supporters oppose the train, compared to the 58 percent overall who support it.

Frustrated with campus discourse limits, California Republicans take on 'free speech zones'

Such zones have prompted a spate of lawsuits. Tomas suit against Cal Poly Pomona was settled for $35,000. Earlier this month, the Alliance Defending Freedom, a conservative Christian group, sued on behalf of an anti-abortion group at Fresno State, after a teacher said the students chalk messages ran afoul of the schools speech zone policy. The university's president, Joseph Castro, said that policy had been overturned two years ago.
