By law, Criego said, the prosecution must turn over to the defense the names and addresses of the accusers. This gives the defense a chance to interview them prior to trial, though they also can decline to comment. Criego told the judge that Fresno police arrested Jean-Pierre in early December, but the police reports that were given to him did not have the names of the accusers or their address.

Cannupa Hanska Luger, a noted Native American artist who is in local residency this week at Fresno State, will be honored at a reception and exhibition at the university's M Street Graduate Studios (1419 M St.). Luger is in the process of installing a commissioned work at the Fresno State campus. His M Street exhibition, titled Old Dominion, includes a project of unglazed bear heads decorated by community volunteers.

Fresno City Council proclaims 'The Collegian Day' for Fresno State's student newspaper

The Fresno City Council proclaimed Thursday as The Collegian Day to recognize Fresno States student-run newspapers recent success in a statewide competition. This is the second year that we've been recognized -- which is a pretty big deal for us because its the city of Fresno honoring a Fresno State organization a part of Fresno, said Diana Giraldo, editor-in-chief of The Collegian.
