The National Climate Data Center provided climate data and NASA's Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center (SEDAC) provided air quality data as part of the quality of life index. They also used data on coastlines from Natural Earth. The Craig School of Business, California State University, Fresno supported this work.

The craft beer scene in downtown Fresno keeps on growing. A new Ale Trail was announced Tuesday at Fresno Mayor Lee Brand's State of Downtown conference at the Warnors theater along with a brew university hosted by Fresno State that will be part of a new Career Readiness Academy.

Local political expert talks about latest controversy involving Rep. Devin Nunes

Congressman Devin Nunes is the House Intelligence Committee Chairman, but he was also part of President Trump's transition team.Some in Washington question whether Nunes can do that job neutrally. "So now he is in the position where he is required to investigate the same administration that he has been trying to build a relationship with, and this suggests possible conflict of interest," said Thomas Holyoke, Fresno State Political Science Professor.

Fresno State holds Garlanding Ceremony to honor Cesar Chavez

This is the 21st year Fresno State has hosted the garlanding ceremony to honor and commemorate Cesar Chavez and the farm labor movement. A farm workers photo exhibition is on display in the Henry Madden Library in addition to festivities like dancers and an art exhibit. Speakers like UFW pioneer Dolores Huerta will highlight the many victories that were built by the power of the people.

A major transformation is underway in downtown Fresno

Two big surprises were also unveiled. By early Fall, there will be a downtown Fresno Ale Trail where you can check out six different breweries, as well as a brewing university. Fresno State is partnering with Full Circle Brewing, offering classes that teach people how to make beer. Thats something weve been strategic about, going after urban manufacturing which includes breweries, people that are maker space type people, things that make downtown Fresno unique or products that are made here, said Blair.
