Creativity center coordinator named

An art historian and scholar was named the new coordinator of Fresno State’s Center for Creativity and the Arts. Cindy Urrutia will oversee management of the center, which is dedicated to engaging communities in artistic and intellectual discovery in the Central Valley. Her expertise is in 20th century American and African American art.

Churches hold final Super Sunday of the year

Our attack upon Iraq and Afghanistan destroyed their infrastructure, their government and killed hundreds of thousands of people. It has led to Iranian influence in Iraq as well as a strengthened al-Qaida and ISIS. The Taliban still runs Afghanistan. If these students at Fresno State want to find Hitler, just let them take a look at our history.

Thumbs up to Fresno State's Bulldog Marching Band leader, Jason Cruz, who will be the first recipient of the Fresno State Alumni Association's Bulldog Pride Fund drum major award. Cruz will be honored in the fall at the Top Dog Alumni Awards Gala, receiving a $2,000 award from the $50,000 fund raised by the Alumni Association. Cruz, an Edison High School graduate, is majoring in music education.

Fresno State reclassified doctoral university
