A July 19 Bee article described Fresno State President John Welty's view of the "dire outcomes" facing Fresno State if Proposition 30 fails to pass in the November election. Another article in the same paper from the UC Board of Regents warned of the same painful options.

Twelve university students and four faculty members attended as part of PMA Foundation for Industry Talent’s Career Pathways Program, which provides students the opportunity to attend industry events to learn about produce careers. The students and faculty represented California State University, Fresno; California State University, Monterey Bay; Hartnell College; and University of California, Davis.

Migrant girls study health

The girls -- most of them 6th to 8th grade students, from migrant programs across the county -- spent one week learning about different health careers and acquiring new skills, like how to perform CPR and calculate BMI (body mass index.) They spent the second week living in the dorms on the California State University, Fresno, campus, and practicing more hands-on skills, like using stethoscopes and blood pressure monitors.
