New basketball rules assist young Fresno State Bulldogs

But without a doubt, the decision to allow coaches to work out their players couldn't come at a better time for Fresno State and coach Rodney Terry. The Bulldogs were young last season with only two seniors in point guard Steven Shepp and guard Jonathan Wills, and they are going to be even younger this season.

UC Merced continues commitment to increase first-generation college students

FYI - When the University of California, Merced campus opened in 2005 it was supposed to be the beginning of a new era of access to higher educational opportunities for San Joaquin Valley students. In 1995, the University of California Board of Regents specifically selected Merced because it was in the heart of the state’s largest and most populous region without its own UC campus — which hindered opportunities for residents and left a need for an educated workforce in the region.
