CineCulture, together with Filmworks, presents: 2 Days in New York & Invasion of the Body Snatchers

Screenings October 12 & 14: TOWER THEATER, 815 E. OLIVE AVENUE, FRESNO

2 Days in New York: Oct. 12, 5:30 and 8:00 p.m.

The French/German romantic comedy was a 2012 selection at the Sundance Film Festival. Julia Delpy writes and directs this sequel to her 2010 romantic gem "2 Days in Paris." Delpy stars Marion, a French photographer who lives cozily in a New York apartment with her hip journalist boyfriend, their two young children from previous relationships, and their cat. But when Marion’s jolly father, competitive sister, and sister’s outrageous boyfriend visit the couple from Paris, it triggers two days of family mayhem. With their unabashed frankness, the traveling trio pushes every button in Marion’s relationship. It’s a story that critic Thelma Adams of Yahoo! Movies has hailed as “a comedy of manners” with echoes of Woody Allen and Robert Altman. Co-starring Chris Rock and Delpy’s real-life dad, Albert Delpy. In English and French, with English subtitles. 96 minutes, Rated R.

Tickets cost $10 general and $8 for students and seniors.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers: Oct. 14, 3 p.m.

In the spirit of Halloween, Fresno Filmworks Classics presents “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.” The celebrated 1956 science fiction thriller was produced by Walter Wanger and directed by Don Siegel. The “alien invasion” film tells the story of a small-town doctor whose patients are suffering from the paranoid delusion that their friends and relatives are impostors. The doctor is skeptical at first, but he and his fiancée make a desperate attempt to get out of town once they discover that residents are being replaced one-by-one by emotionless doppelgangers, possessed by an evil presence. Starring Kevin McCarthy and Dana Wynter, and adapted from a novel by sci-fi author Jack Finney. 115 minutes.

Tickets cost $5 general admission.

Tickets for both shows can be purchased by check or cash at the Tower Theatre box office, 815 E. Olive Ave. For more information:
