Emre Tepe is a Ph.D. candidate in City and Regional Planning at the Ohio State University where he is currently writing his dissertation study titled “Statistical Modeling and Simulation of Land Development Dynamics” under the supervision of Dr. Jean-Michel Guldmann. He was awarded Fulbright doctoral scholarships and the Ohio State University tuition and fee awards for 2011 – 2013 academic years. His research interests include spatio-temporal modeling, simulation, spatial econometrics, optimization, urban economics, and big data. He earned a M.Sc. in City and Regional Planning from the Ohio State University in 2013 and a M.Sc. in City Planning from Istanbul Technical University in 2010. He received his B.Sc. in Urban and Regional Planning from Istanbul Technical University in 2007. Prior to beginning the doctoral program, he worked as a city planner at Tuzla Municipality in Istanbul between 2007 and 2011; where he was appointed as Chief Planner in 2009. While working in the municipality, he was appointed to be the representative of the Union Municipalities of Marmara on the Urban Planning Task Force of the Network of Associations of Local Authorities of South East Europe (NALAS) from 2009 to 2011 and worked as a local expert on two urban planning projects of NALAS.
