Catherine Garoupa White is currently a PhD candidate in Geography at the University of California, Davis, where she works as a researcher with Academic Technology Services. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies with a Minor in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from California State University, Fresno. Research interests include community development, regional planning, non-profit management, environmental justice, and sustainability. Garoupa White is from Madera, California and possesses more than a decade of experience working as an advocate for social and environmental justice in California and San Joaquin Valley in a variety of roles.
