Director of Human Resources, Fresno Pacific University (March 2012 – Present)

Provide overall leadership to the university’s HR department including recruitment, onboarding, position management, compensation, benefits, leaves, performance management, payroll, workers’ compensation, employee relations, HRIS, training and development and compliance. Member of Cabinet, participating in strategic planning and university initiatives with VPs. Oversee payroll services for over 1600 employees including full-time, part-time and student employees. Oversee the university’s benefit programs and manage broker relationships. Provide expertise and guidance on complex employee relations issues. Collaborate with the Provost, subject matter experts and/or legal counsel as appropriate. Guide managers in the job description development process, employee disciplinary issues, and appropriate training. Lead or direct investigations of complaints and allegations of inappropriate employee behavior. Title IX Co-Coordinator responsible for managing aspects of the Title IX Program, Oversee the effective implementation of human resource systems and programs to ensure compliance with applicable legal guidelines and university policies. Prepare and manage the HR budget. Analyze staffing issues and consult with managers to develop workforce planning strategies that meet organizational needs. Oversee employee recognition programs. Motivate and empower staff to improve quantity and quality of work performed and provide training and development opportunities.

Director of Human Resources, SinglePoint Outsouring, Inc. (November 2001-March 2012)

Oversaw the HR operations of the company to ensure efficient and effective delivery of HR and payroll services to over 70 clients (business/organization) and 1,600 worksite employees in a variety of industries including health care, banking, construction and non-profit organizations. Managed and developed a team of HR experts to empower them to deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring their clients’ practices and procedures were sound and in compliance with applicable wage and hour laws, regulations, industry practices, and SinglePoint’s guidelines and training. Partnered with brokers and TPAs to manage multiple health insurance plans, supplemental insurance programs, FSA, HAS, COBRA and retirement programs. Developed client relationships, consulted with business owners and leaders, and engaged in strategic planning in areas of employment law, payroll, benefits, safety, and WC. Investigated and brought resolution to employee grievances. Developed training and educated client supervisors/employees on topics including: sexual harassment prevention (AB1825 qualified trainer), essential supervisory skills, building harmony in the workplace, preventing workplace violence, performance management, leadership topics, and more. Research, implemented and managed HRIS technology.
