After more than 30 years of service, Gary Wilson is retiring. Gary, an alumni, began his employment at Fresno State in 1985 as a Drafting Aide for Space and Facilities Planning. He eventually worked his way up as the Manager of Architectural Trades, Director of Facilities Planning, Director of Plant Operations and currently our Senior Director of Facilities Management. Gary has served on many committees over the years including the President’s Committee on Disabilities and the Campus Planning Committee. Gary also served as the Campus Building Official providing oversight on every construction and maintenance project, large or small. During his career, Gary has been involved with growing the campus by roughly 1.3 million gross square feet of new building space (projects include the Henry Madden Library Addition/Expansion, Save Mart Center, Meyers Sports Medicine, Aquatics Center, Student Recreation Center, Science II, and the most recent Physical Therapy and Intercollegiate Athletics facility), not to mention the 670,000 square feet currently under construction (Jordan Agricultural Research Center and Campus Pointe), and the thousands of square feet of building renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and sports fields. Gary has been a significant member of our Facilities family for many years and we wish him the very best in the future. On behalf of the campus community, I want to thank him for the all the great work he has done and for his committed and dedicated service.

Gary’s last working day on campus will be December 23, so please take the opportunity to bid him farewell….or you may see him later on a golf course.

Associate Vice President for Facilities Management
