Dear Colleagues:

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Matthew Zivot to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness team as research analyst. Dr. Zivot joined the OIE team on August 17. Dr. Zivot brings both a quantitative and qualitative research methods background to OIE. He received his Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His research focused on studying how a person's emotional states influence their categorization behavior. Dr. Zivot also has a teaching background having taught psychology classes (Intro to Psych, Biological Psych, and Research Methods) at Trinity Washington University, Washington, DC. He is currently researching and collaborating on a book which investigates the effects of stress at a societal level. Dr. Zivot is joined by his wife, a park ranger with the National Park Service. In their free time they enjoy hiking the Sierras.

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Matthew Zivot to his new assignment at Fresno State OIE.
