Dear Faculty:

The Division of Continuing and Global Education is pleased to announce our call for proposals for Faculty-Led Short Term International Travel Study Programs for Summer 2013 and Winter/Spring Break 2014. In support of the University’s Plan for Excellence, our Division assists academic schools and colleges with providing high-quality international academic experiences for Fresno State students.

Beginning this fall, the process for applying to offer short-term international travel study programs has changed. The new process better supports individual schools/colleges by allowing leadership in each area to determine priorities and decide which programs best meet the needs of their students. As such, all program proposals are now routed through Department Chairs and Deans prior to submission to CGE.

In order to apply to offer a Faculty-Led Short-Term International Travel Study Program, a complete proposal consisting of the following documents must be submitted by the deadlines noted below:

· Faculty-Led International Short-Term Travel Study Program Proposal Form
· Course Syllabus
· Detailed Daily Itinerary
· Names and Contact Information for Third Party Providers/Travel Agents
· Faculty and Student Budgets
· Documented Price Quotes from Vendors
· Supplemental Information (refer to Faculty-Led International Short-Term Travel Study Program Proposal Form)

Proposals should be submitted to your Department Chair, who will review and recommend approval action to your school/college Dean. Upon review and approval by the Dean, completed proposals must be received by the Division of Continuing and Global Education no later than:

· October 1, 2012 for Summer 2013 trips; and
· March 1, 2013 for Winter Break 2014 or Spring Break 2014 trips.

All forms and instructions for proposal development have been posted to the following CGE website: ... ravel.html

We welcome your proposals and look forward to discussing international opportunities with you. Should you need additional information pertaining to this process, please contact Ms. Cynthia Trent at or 278-0408.

Thank you.
