Postby tinab » Thu Jul 26, 2012 9:24 am

Open Registration begins on Thursday, August 2!

Enrollment Limits:
Undergraduate Students:
As you recall, during Early Registration all undergraduate students were limited to 16 units. For Open Registration, all undergraduate students will continue to be limited to 16 units (including Wait List units) except for a selected group of students approved by the President (see below). For these students, effective on August 2 with the beginning of Open Registration, the 16 unit enrollment limit will automatically get reset to 18 units or greater based on GPA levels described below:

Cumulative GPA Level
Set to 18 units unless:
2.50 - 2.99 = reset to 19 units
3.00 - 4.00 = reset to 22 units

Exception Groups approved by the President:
Graduating Seniors -students who have completed 95 or more units
ROTC Program students
4 Year Guarantee Degree Program students
Honors Program students
High Unit Majors - Engineering (Civil, Computer, Electrical, Geomatics, Mechanical) & B.S. Nursing (not Pre-Nursing)

Post-baccalaureate Students:
During Early Registration all post-baccalaureate students enrollment limits were set based on their Program. For Open Registration, the enrollment limits remain the same and if a student needs to enroll in excess units they must obtain approval described below.

Graduate (Masters) Program: 16 units
Graduate (Doctoral) Program: 16 units
Advanced Certificate Program: 16 units
Consideration for excess units is through the Division of Graduate Studies with an Academic Overload petition.

Credential Program: 20 units
Consideration for excess units is through the Credential Program Office using an Excess Units petition form available from the Admissions and Records Office or via the website at

Also, beginning with Open Registration:
1. Students who were canceled for non-payment of fees can re-register for their classes. The next fee payment deadline is Friday, August 17.
2. Eligible students who did not participate in Early Registration can register for their fall classes. Tuition and other fees will be due on Friday, August 17.
3. We will increase the frequency of running the Wait List process to every two hours throughout the day.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
