On Wednesday, Jan. 4, the University will pay tribute to Dr. Vincent E. Petrucci, professor emeritus of viticulture who died Dec. 27, by posting our flags at half-staff.
Known as the father of Fresno State’s viticulture and enology program, Dr. Petrucci, taught at Fresno State from 1948 to 1993 and helped establish the University’s renowned viticulture and enology program.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes be made to the Ag One Foundation to support the Vincent E. Petrucci Endowment for viticulture and enology student scholarships or the Fresno State Foundation to support the V. E. Petrucci Library Endowment (mailing address for both: 2910 E. Barstow Ave. M/S OF 115, Fresno CA 93740).
The viewing will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Lisle Funeral Home (1605 L St.). Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (355 E. Champlain Drive). A Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit. Burial will be private.
