Minors

Each of the six minors also requires a 2.0 GPA and 6 upper-division units in residence.

Chinese Minor

 Select from CHIN 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 100, and LING 190 (15 units)

Approved elective (3 units)
Select from ANTH 124, 125, 126, or a course approved by the Chinese program coordinator
Total: 18 units

Computational Linguistics Minor

 LING 100, 149, 152 (9 units) 
LING 139 and 142 or 143 and 144 (6 units) 
Total: 15 units
Advising Note: A strong background in computer science is necessary for the Computational Linguistics Minor. It is open to computer science majors or by consent of the Linguistics Department Chair.

Hmong Minor

 HMONG 1A, HMONG1B, HMONG 4, HMONG 100, HMONG 101, LING 121

Total: 20 units
Advising note: Students who took HMONG 1A and/or HMONG 1B as 3 units can graduate with a Hmong minor with at least 18 units.
