Living in Fresno

Fresno anchors a metropolitan area of more than a half-million people in the central San Joaquin Valley. It’s known as the New California for its dynamic economic and population growth. It is distinguished by diversity and its mix of urban attractions, agricultural production and proximity to recreation in nearby mountains and Central Coast beaches. Fresno is the area’s business, financial, educational and cultural hub, offering such amenities as a philharmonic orchestra, museums and professional baseball, soccer and hockey teams. Some of entertainment’s biggest names have performed at the Save Mart Center at Fresno State. The region’s towns host annual events ranging from old-fashioned hometown festivals and rodeos to cultural celebrations and harvest fairs.
