LUNAFEST™ is a nationwide festival of short films by...for...about women. LUNAFEST™ runs from October-March, in that time it is shown by more than 100 venues nationwide and is seen by over 20,000 viewers. For one night only Fresno is lucky to hold this festival that raises money for Breast Cancer Fund and the Women's Resource Center (WRC). Films touch on a variety of issues of interest to women and those who love them.
The Women's Resource Center has held the LUNAFEST™ festival for eleven years. Community member, Carla Jo Dakin, brought this event to the attention of the WRC. Unfortunately, she passed away after battling breast cancer on September 8, 2006. In her honor Fresno State's LUNAFEST™ has been named "LUNAFEST™ in Memory of Carla Jo Dakin."
We encourage everyone to attend a wonderful night!
