Open House

To kick off each fall semester the Women's Resource Center, Violence Prevention Project, and Central Valley Cultural Heritage Institute host an Open House for students, faculty, and staff to come enjoy great food and awesome company, and learn more about our services. The main purpose of this event is to get as many people from the campus familiar with The Center, its programs, and its services, making it a more familiar place for all.

Everyone is invited and encouraged to stop by, check out our location, ask questions, and sign up for upcoming activities.

Stop the Hate, Stop the Violence

Stop the Hate, Stop the Violence is a Fresno State community involved project. Each year several student clubs, departments & programs come together to bring awareness of non-violence means of conflict resolutions.

The 2007 opening ceremony included speakers such as University President John D. Welty, Associated Students President Juan Pablo Moncayo, and Dewarko Ji Sundrani, an associate of Mahatmas Gandhi and renowned Gandhian social worker from India.

Activities during the 2007 week included an interfaith panel discussion, music, poetry and an international culture festival. The Violence Prevention Project was proud to put together a panel discussion regarding Violence Against Women. This discussion was well welcomed by the students and requested for additional presentations.

To wrap up each semester, the Violence Prevention Project holds a Volunteer Appreciation event where all of our volunteers are treated to fun, food, and an official certificate of appreciation for all of their hard work during the semester.
