Jennie Johnson

The Director is responsible for the implementation of the Services for Students with Disabilities office. She provides supervision for all SSD staff and ensures the implementation of the TRiO SSS-D grant. The Director works with students with all disabilities and is responsible for the professional development of the TRiO SSS-D Program Director.  

 

 Program Director / Academic Counselor

 

 Luis Flores

Provides counseling, academic advising, and career development services to junior and senior students. Responsible for the TRiO SSS-D grant management and staff development. Serves as an advocate to students with disabilities and promotes equitable opportunities for all students. Reports to the SSD Director.

 

Learning Specialist / Academic Counselor

 

 Alondra Martinez

Provides learning strategies, counseling and academic advising to freshmen and sophomore students. Responsible for financial literacy activities, and academic support. Serves as an advocate to students with disabilities and promotes equitable opportunities for all students.

Mentor Support Specialist  

 

Omar Espinoza

Representative for Fresno State students with spectrum disorders and related challenges. Coordinates mentorship activities/events and supervises volunteer mentors. Serves as an advocate to students with disabilities and promotes equitable opportunities for all students.

Program Assistant 

 Priscilla GilletteBerg

Representative for TRiO SSS-D program at campus and tabling events. Responsible for providing clerical support; serves as a controller and gatekeeper to all students. Coordinates program orientations, distributes program information and serves as an advocate to students with disabilities to promote equitable opportunities for all students.

 

Peer Academic Coach

 

  Position Open

 Provides one-on-one coaching sessions for students and helps with the enhancement of students’ organizational, study, note-taking, and time management skills. Assists with academic advising and mentoring. Serves as an advocate to students with disabilities and promotes equitable opportunities for all students.
