Scholarship Application

The scholarship application period for Fresno State starts October 1, 2015. The "priority" application deadline is  February 28, 2016. However, there may be some scholarship opportunities open beyond the priority deadline for specific majors, programs, or student groups. Therefore, we encourage all students to occasionally log-in to check their application status for recommended scholarships to see if there are any new opportunities available.

This application period is for current year scholarship opportunities that may become available during the 2015/2016 academic year as well as for future scholarship opportunities for the 2016/2017 academic year.

Please note there are different deadline dates for the various scholarship opportunities offered at Fresno State. Since these deadline dates can change without notice, please do not procrastinate on finishing the application process.  If you are currently enrolled at Fresno State, it is highly recommended that you submit your scholarship application as soon as possible.  This will allow you to be considered for current year opportunities that may become available.

Getting Started

In order to be considered for a Fresno State scholarship, students must be a continuing student or a new student who has applied for admission for the 2016/2017 academic year. Before you attempt to apply for Fresno State scholarships, please make sure you have received a Fresno State Student I.D. number and have activated your MyFresnoState account with a valid email address. All scholarship applicants must use their MyFresnoState log-in user name and password to access the scholarship application/database.

Please be prepared to provide two different personal statements. One statement is to give you an opportunity to tell us important things about yourself that are not addressed or apparent in the application. The second statement is regarding your career objectives.  Once you complete the general scholarship application, you will be presented with recommended opportunities for which you might be eligible.  The recommended opportunities can be a combination of general scholarships (open to all students) and departmental scholarships (restricted to students within a specific major or field of study. These scholarship opportunities require additional questions to be answered and/or supplemental documentation to be uploaded.

Honors Program - Scholarship Opportunities

The Smittcamp Family Honors College provides a rigorous yet friendly setting in which you can study with your intellectual peers in courses that match those offered at a small liberal arts college, while having access to the breadth of resources and extracurricular activities offered at a high quality, comprehensive university. Moreover, and perhaps the best part of it all, every Smittcamp student receives a President’s Honors Scholarship. This award is comparable to the value of in-state tuition and includes credit for a community style room in the on-campus residence halls.

To apply for the honors scholarship you must first complete the Fresno State General Scholarship Application. Once you complete the general scholarship application, you will be able to view and apply for the Smittcamp Family Honors College - President’s Honors Scholarship opportunity. The scholarship requirements and PDF program application will be visible under the “opportunities” directory.

The deadline to apply for this scholarship is December 10, 2015. There are no exceptions to this deadline under any circumstances.
