Fresno State is offering more than 200 undergraduate classes in the Summer 2024 Semester, allowing students to enroll on a full- or part-time basis, as they would in the Fall or Spring Semesters. Please note these summer semester courses are different from the Continuing and Global Education Spring Intersession courses that will also be offered this summer. The fee/tuition structures are different between the two types of courses.

Each session has specific deadlines, policies, and procedures.

ALL SEMESTER DATES SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

Final exams will be scheduled based on the length of your course.  Refer to the course syllabus for more information.

  1. When will I receive my financial aid for summer courses?
    1. The Financial Aid & Scholarships office will begin sending student award letters for summer in mid-April. For more information, visit their website.
  2. How much does it cost to take courses over summer?
    1. Visit the Student Accounts website fro an overview of summer tuition and fees.
  3. How do I know what session my class is in? 
    1. The session your class is in will be shown in "Class Enrollment" once you have selected which course you are viewing. The session will be found in the highlighted section below: How to view class enrollment
    2. If you looking for classes in a specific session, sessions can be filtered in "Class Search" by clicking on "Class Type" and choosing the session: Choosing your Class Type
  4. Am I limited to the number of units I can take over summer?
    1. Yes, undergraduate students are limited to 18 units, graduate students are limited to 16 units, and credential students are limited to 20 units. Students should follow the same excess unit process if requesting additional units. There is no additional unit increase based on GPA during summer semesters.  You can access the form or more information on the Forms Page of our website.
  5. Am I able to submit a Third Attempt form or Excess Unit form (if needed) for Summer 2024 courses?
    1. Yes, both forms are accepted for summer 2024 courses similar to fall and spring semesters. You can access the form or more information on the Forms Page of our website.
  6. What day do I need to drop by to get a full refund?
    1. Students MUST drop the class prior to the session starting to receive a full refund. 
  7. What are the summer fees for International or non-California resident students?
    1. Nonresident students pay an additional $ 396 per unit plus mandatory campus fees.
  8. If I drop a summer course after the course has already started will I get a refund? How much of a refund will I get back?
    1. Classes dropped as of the first day of the session starting or later will be subject to prorated tuition and mandatory fees. For more information on summer refunds, please visit the Student Accounts website.
