According to recent studies, college graduates who study accountancy, management, information systems, finance and marketing are in high demand in the modern workplace. Jobweb.com reports that five of the ten most in-demand bachelor’s degrees for 2008 are in the business field. Truly, a business degree is a smart choice for a bright future.
So why study business at the Craig School of Business at Fresno State with all the other options in higher education today? In addition to full accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and recognition in the Princeton Review’s Top Business Schools, we value an applied learning environment and a learn-by-doing mentality that prepares our students to be knowledgeable and competitive in the business world. During your time at Fresno State you will have the opportunity to:
* Earn a $12,000 Craig/Fresno Merchant Scholarship and gain admission into the prestigious Craig School Scholars Program. These scholarships, in conjunction with 100 additional annual scholarships, place the Craig School at the very top of the list of scholarship assistance for business students in the CSU.
* Enroll in the “Student Investment Fund” class, which allows you to manage a portion of the School’s portfolio and gives you instruction on how to establish an investment plan, analyze opportunities, and manage funds successfully. This is one of only 50 programs of its kind in the nation.
* Participate in the Craig School Honors Program, the first and only thesis-based honors program in the CSU. You will work one-on-one with a faculty mentor to research, develop, and present a publishable thesis to the faculty and community.
* Study business abroad in France, Germany, or a number of other countries with a Craig School of Business professor in a unique summer program. Traveling with a professor from the college, you will be able to experience business systems in another country, cultural emersion, and earn units towards your business degree. All this in a four-week program for the same price as your regular Fresno State summer fees.
* Work in a paid internship for an area business, which has been designed to suit your professional and academic interests via collaboration between you, the employer, and our in-house internship coordinator. No filing and coffee runs here!
