Pre-Admission Advising
We are happy to assist you with the entire application and admission process. Please come see us any time! Students planning to enter or transfer to Fresno State should see a counselor early on to make sure they take the correct courses for general education and pre-major requirements.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Counselors can review your transcripts and determine eligibilty. We cannot provide a full evaluation of courses, but can answer general questions about what transfers to Fresno State.
WHAT TO BRING
Your unofficial transcripts from all schools attended. This helps the counselor gain a better understanding of your educational background so he or she can advise you accordingly. You may also find it helpful to prepare a list of questions in advance to make sure you don't forget anything.
HOW TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT
Please CLICK HERE to make your request online, or call 559.278.2048 to talk to a staff member. Pending availability, we will set up your appointment over email or phone with a counselor who specializes in your major. We can make appointments from 9am-12pm & 1pm-3pm, Monday-Friday during the academic year, and 8am-12pm & 1pm-2pm, Monday-Friday during the summer.
If you live out of the Fresno area and are unable to get to the campus, we can also set up a phone appointment. Please be aware that you should still fax us your transcripts so we can review them prior to calling.
Academic Advising
Once you are admitted to Fresno State, you will recieve your initial Academic Advising to select your first-semester courses. This summer Orientation is called Dog Days, and is designed to give you all the tools you need to get off on the right foot here at Fresno State.
