Student Leadership Award

This award is designed to give special recognition to students for their creativity, energy, enthusiasm and outstanding abilities, which are the backbone of successful and dynamic orientation programs.

Two students may be selected from each region per year; one student from a four-year institution and one from a two-year institution.

To be considered, the nominee must have been involved in orientation between June 1, 2009 and March 30, 2010.

The benefits to the selected student orientation leaders from each region are:

  • Plaque presented at the Region II Conference
  • Waiver of Regional conference fee (if the student attends)
  • Recognition at Annual conference
  • $100 bookstore (or equivalent) gift certificate

The Student Leadership Award recipients who are selected each year will be expected to forward an autobiographical sketch along with a photo suitable for printing to the Editor of the Orientation Review immediately after the regional conference.

Please complete the Student Leadership Award form and return the form, a biography of the nominated student, any other supporting documents, and a picture (if available) to Maisha Beasley at meb10@stmarys-ca.edu by Friday, February 19th, 2010.

Outstanding Orientation Professional Award

This award is designed to give special recognition to those professionals who provide outstanding leadership to the orientation and transition programs within Region II.

One professional will be selected from each Region this year. In order to be considered, the nominee must have been involved in orientation between January 2009 and January 2010.

The professional selected from our Region will receive the following:

  • Plaque presented at the 2010 Regional Conference
  • Recognition in an upcoming edition of the Orientation Review
  • Automatic nomination for the national Outstanding Orientation Professional Award

Please complete the Outstanding Orientation Professional Award Nomination form and all supporting documentation and return to Maisha Beasley at meb10@stmarys-ca.edu by Friday, February 19th, 2010.
