Welcome First-Time Freshmen

You have made a great decision on considering our university. Our currently freshman class makes up 21% of our total student body. For the past ten years, Fresno State has put in place many programs to assure the success of our students. First-time-freshmen who are are not exempt must register and pay for their Early Start classes by June 3, 2013.

October 2012

California State University, Fresno is an impacted campus at the freshman level and uses supplemental admissions criteria to admit first-time freshmen for the fall 2013 semester.

All first-time freshman applicants must complete and submit the CSU Application for Admission during the priority filing period (October 1 to November 30, 2012).

Applicants from the CSU Fresno-defined local area qualify for admission based on CSU systemwide eligibility criteria.

  • All students with a grade point average below a 3.00 need SAT or ACT scores.
  • SAT or ACT scores are recommended for all students with grade point average of 3.00 or higher.

Freshman applicants from schools outside of the CSU Fresno-defined local area who are CSU eligible will be rank ordered by eligibility index.

  • SAT or ACT scores are required for all applicants from schools outside the local area. Test scores must be submitted by January 15, 2013.
