Choosing an Early Start Course

 

Mathematics Courses:

Early Start Math (1-unit - On Campus)

A two-week course at Fresno State that will assist the you in building a greater understanding of mathematics. 

Early Start Math (1-unit - Online)

The online 1-unit class is only recommended for students who can work on math alone.  Do not take the 1-unit online class unless you are unable to attend the class at Fresno State.

NOTE:  After completing a 1-unit Early Start Math course, students will have the option to retake the ELM test.  If you receive a score 50 or greater you will be considered remediated and can go directly to GE math. If you receive score of 49  or less, then you will be required to take remedial mathematics courses (Math 1RA/1RB or Math 4R) by the end of your first year in college.

Early Start Math (3-units - On Campus)

Consider enrolling in the 3-unit class if you have the time and finances to come to Fresno State for a 4-week period.

If you cannot afford to attend the 3-unit class (either financially or time wise), you should enroll in the 1-unit on-campus class.

English Courses:

Early Start English (1-unit - On Campus)

After completing the 1-unit course, based on your EPT score, you can self-place into English 5A/5B or English 10. You must complete English 5A or English 10 by the end of your first year at college.

Early Start English (1-unit Online)

The online 1-unit class is only recommended for students who can work on English alone. Do not take the 1-unit online class unless you are unable to attend the class at Fresno State.
