A. If you are interested in having a mentor and being a part of the MentorU program you can fill out the online form.

If you would like to serve as a mentor, please fill out this form: Interested in Becoming a Peer Mentor.

A. Fresno State freshmen in their first year at the university are eligible to be in the MentorU program. *If you are an incoming student who has a sophomore standing, you are eligible to apply* 

At this time, the MentorU program is not open to first-time transfer students.

A. MentorU is a great start at getting your foot through the door in being involved on campus at Fresno State. As it is specifically geared towards first-year incoming students, you will be surrounding by peers just like yourself! Additionally, MentorU has an outstanding team of Peer Mentors who help guide students in their first year at Fresno State. MentorU aims to help make transitioning into Fresno State as easy possible and provide a safe space for students to grow in the environment most suited for them.

A. MentorU provides a variety of workshops/events, service learning projects and educational field trips that revolve around social leadership, academics and sense of belonging. Aside from our fantastic events, we also connect you to the wide range of engagements and departments here at Fresno State that match and suit your personal needs. MentorU will also provide you with a Peer Mentor in which you are able to meet with and ask for advice on navigating school, professional growth, leadership, etc. 

Other resources provided are:

  • Laptop/Tablet Loan System
  • Testing Supplies (i.e. scantrons, pencils, pens, highlighters) 

A. Mentees are invited based on select academic criteria and matched to a mentor through a match sruvey. 

A. YES! Any Fresno State student and/or affiliate is allowed to come to our workshops and events. In the case of access to specific resources (i.e. educational trips, StregnthsFinder access codes, etc.), MentorU will prioritize it's Mentees above other affiliates. 

A: We are located in the New Student and Parent Programs Office: Joyal 131.
