You are an international student if you are or will be studying at a U.S. institution on a non-immigrant visa. Most international students admitted to California State University, Fresno, obtain F-1 or J-1 visas. However, it is possible to enter on other nonimmigrant visas. If you need clarification of your status, please contact our office at intladm@listserv.csufresno.edu or (559) 278-2409.

Admissions Requirements Chart Link to Graduate Division Website (1) Conditional admission is available to academically eligible students who have not yet reached the required TOEFL or IELTS score.  For undergraduate students seeking conditional admission, the minimum required score is 46 on TOEFL or 5.5 on IELTS. For graduate students seeking conditional admission, the minimum required score is 68 on the TOEFL or 6.0 on the IELTS. Graduate students seeking conditional admission must also meet the other graduate departmental requirements to be eligible.

Students offered conditional admission are required to attend the American English Institute (AEI) located on the CSU Fresno campus.
