Confidentiality & Policies

Every student pays a fee for health services at the time of registration. This means all current Fresno State students are eligible for services at the Student Health and Counseling Center.

Only our staff may see your records. Unless required by law or court order, we do not release information without your consent.

We keep your health records separate from your academic records.

Privacy and Parents

We do not release information to your parents unless you give written consent.  We do inform your parents if you are a minor and are seriously ill.

Reporting Requirements

State law requires us to report conditions such as injury from assault, loss of consciousness, public health diseases and posing a threat to self or others.

University employees must report if they suspect discrimination, harassment or violence—in any form—has occurred against a student.

Counselors are exempt from these requirements.
