Nursing Loan Page
The U.S. Department of Health Services offers the Nursing Loan Program to students pursuing a baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
Available to students with a demonstrated need pursuing a course of study leading to a baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
Eligible students may borrow up to $2,500 per year for the first two years of education and $4,000 for the final. The maximum amount that can be borrowed is $17,000.
The Nursing Loan has a 5% fixed interest rate.
If you are attending school at least half-time, you have nine months after you graduate, leave school, or drop below half-time status before you must begin repayment. If you are attending less than half-time, check with the school to find out how long your grace period will be.
Loans not accepted within 30 days of the date of award, or the beginning of the semester whichever is latest, may be cancelled. Nursing awards that exceed aggregate limits will be cancelled.
