Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships

Grants

Next to scholarships, grants are the most attractive form of financial assistance because grants do not need to be repaid provided students maintain their grant eligibility.

Federal Grants:

Federal grants consist of the Pell Grant and the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant(FSEOG). The Pell grant is usually awarded to undergraduates who have not earned a bachelor's or professional degree and demonstrated eligibility. The SEOG is Awarded to undergraduates with exceptional financial need--that is, students with the lowest Expected Family Contributions (EFC)--with priority given to students who receive Federal Pell Grants. An FSEOG does not have to be paid back.

Apply for financial aid (submit a FAFSA), as soon as possible after January 1, each year you are in school. Students are considered for all grants listed here upon submission of a FAFSA. Unfortunately, many funds are exhausted long before the FAFSA application period ends.  Please submit your FAFSA as early as possible to have the best opportunity for grant consideration.  If a supplemental application is required, eligible students will be contacted and encouraged to apply.
