Transfer students at orientation

Welcome new Bulldogs!

DOG DAYS: new student orientation assists transfer students in starting their Fresno State career on the right track. Attending Orientation is an important step in making the transition to life as a Bulldog and is the best way to acclimate yourself as a new Fresno State student. DOG DAYS gives students the opportunity to meet with an academic counselor, meet with a department advisor from your major and receive priority registration. While new transfer students may already be familiar with college, it is also an opportunity to learn about all of the policies and procedures that are unique to Fresno State.

Reserve your spot early, dates will fill up quickly: Dates of Orientation, Transfer students are encouraged to attend DOG DAYS but it is not required. Transfer student orientations will take place in July and are determined by your declared major.

Make sure you send transcripts from your previous colleges ahead of time, and if you did not receive your DARS in the mail check your My Fresno State Portal before your session.

There is a lot of information to learn at orientation. Guests & Parents are welcome to attend. Students must be present for the entire orientation in order to be cleared for registration. No exceptions.

There are some things that need to be done before your DOG DAY. Check the pre-orientation checklist to make sure you come prepared.

 Transfer students can register for DOG DAYS by accessing the Admissions section of the Student Center on the my.fresnostate.edu student portal.

After you log in click on Student Self Service -> Student Center -> Admissions section -> Dog Days Orientation

Orientation Program Fees:

- Transfer: $70

- Parent/Guest: $20 for the first guest: $15 every additional guest

* NO refunds will be issued once payment is made.

The orientation fee for transfer students is $70, which covers:

  • Meals
  • Parking
  • Facilities
  • Program materials
  • Administrative costs
  • Staff salaries
