Dog Days: New Student Orientation is a program designed to help new students transition into the University. Whether you are coming in as a transfer student from another college/university or a first-time freshman from high school, we are here to help you acclimate to campus and register for classes.
During orientation students will meet with an academic counselor, a major adviser, and register for classes. In addition to learning about academic requirements, students will hear from a variety of campus programs as well as participate in a resource fair. Dog Days is mandatory for all incoming students.
Summer 2020 UPDATE
Dog Days will be going to a virtual format for orientation this summer due to COVID-19. Students will be receiving detailed communication from the Dog Days about their online orientation at the end of May. In addition to the virtual orientations in June and July, Dog Days will also be holding in-person supplemental orientations in August for incoming students.
The deadline to register for Dog Days has changed for incoming freshmen to June 1st, the same as incoming transfer students. Don't delay in making your reservation. Although Dog Days will be online this summer, students will still attend their virtual orientation on the date that they register for in either June or July.
With so many students dealing with financial uncertainty due to COVID-19 President Castro has made the decision to waive the Dog Days fee. This means that students will NOT have to pay the $70 fee and guests will NOT be responsible for the $25 fee. Students will still need to make your Dog Days reservation by June 1st.
For those students and families who have already paid your Dog Days fees those will be credited to your Fresno State account in the near future. We are working on the procedures but rest assured for those students who have already paid their fee(s), those fees will appear as a credit on your Fresno State account. That credit will be applied to other fees such as tuition, parking permits, etc.
